So as most of you know, the 16th is my birthday....and yes, if you're really bright (which is why you're reading my blog) you've already figured out that Greg and my birthdays are only 5 days apart...we like to do all our celebrating at the same time!
Anyways, for my birthday we kept things low key and headed to Disneyland to get my gift card and ride a ride or two. We decided to head into California Adventure since we knew there would be less of a crowd there but the park was still surprisingly full for the day...so Karyl and the boys went on the "Silly Merry-Go-Round" (the Toy Story Ride) and I gladly sat back and watched Freddie while he slept....I am so impressed, he is getting SOOOO much better at falling asleep in the stroller when he's tired!!
Now, before you comment "why didn't someone else stay off and watch him while you went on, it was your birthday after all" I'll give you a reason...I would just say I wanted to, but no one would believe me!! Actually, that is the reason...I really don't mind staying off the rides, but for those of you waiting for a real answer, I actually finally had an epiphany while waiting as to why I don't mind sitting off the rides all the time. It is because I know that if I really wanted to go on a ride, I could just tell Greg and he would gladly sit out with the kids while I rode the ride of my choosing 13 times....and that's exactly why I don't mind, because I know that when I really do have an itch to ride something, he will gladly sit back and let me have fun. I really have a wonderful husband!!!

Anyways, back to the birthday bonanza...

So they rode the ride, I fed Freddie and got to play with him for a while...then we headed over to the Soup place and I had a yummy bowl of Broccoli Cheese Soup (my favorite) and then we headed back with Grandpa to just relax and play with the family.

Oh, and Karyl "won" yet another Toy Story stuffed animal....his name is Rex...
I had a wonderful birthday....and I even got a present I had been wanting for a very long time thanks to Greg and his parents.

And yes, it DOES count as a present even though it is for the kitchen....I have wanted a large soup pot for a while and I am so excited to have one!!!
We also stopped by JoAnn's in Foothill Ranch to let the kids say hi to my mom and I was excited to see that she had gotten me a Wilton's cookie press....I have a really pretty Crate and Barrel one from our wedding, but the thing is totally impractical. It's impossible to clean and the dough always squishes out where it shouldn't. And don't worry, the person who gave it to us will never be reading this blog so I can say that =)
So you can expect some cute butter cookies on my other blog sometime soon since I have to try out the cookie press!! This one is all plastic and the handle and everything comes off so it should work MUCH better...it's funny how sometimes you are better off buying the cheap stuff than the pretty and expensive stuff because let's face it, sometimes cheap plastic just works better for some things!!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes and have a great week!!
